Make up your mind, Pete-boy. Either you're so competent you don't need anyone, or you're desperately courting allies. You can't be bragging about military independence at a defence summit in Singapore and at the same time threatening European nations with pressure 'cause they ain't sending ships into a strait that was already open BEFORE your war even started.

Let me be precise. Not because you deserve the courtesy, but because clarity seems to elude certain individuals in this world. I was born in Germany. My mother, a German woman of German ancestry, born on German soil. My father, a native Turk. I mention this not to defend myself (I've nothing to defend) but to illustrate a point that racists have apparently failed to grasp. Someone who wasn't born here, who earned their citizenship through years of process and persistence, is every bit as German as I am. Not lesser. Not conditionally. Equally. This isn't sentiment. This isn't opinion. This is Article 116 paragraph 1 of the Basic Law, and § 4 paragraph 1 of the Nationality Act. The law doesn't negotiate with feelings. Least of all racist ones. "Real German." "Passport German." These aren't legal terms. They don't appear in any constitution, any statute, any international framework. They exist solely in the minds of racists who've mistaken their ignorance for identity, and their prejudice for patriotism. As though true patriotism has ever meant anything other than love and loyalty to one's country, its values, its constitution, and all of its people. Not a selected subset. All of them. This isn't exclusive to Germany. Every country whose constitution defines citizenship by the same principle operates under the same reality, and every racist in those countries who questions the legitimacy of their fellow citizens is equally wrong, equally ignorant, and equally irrelevant to what the law actually states. Racists aren't guardians of anything. They're simply people who never bothered to read the document that governs the country they claim to defend. Or any document, really. Any book. Any page. Literacy appears to have been optional. That isn't a political position. That isn't a legitimate concern. That's racism, and racism of that particular breed tends to collapse the moment it encounters education. Which, evidently, hasn't been a risk so far.
