There's been some curators on Steam that have been trying to help with this until now, but man, the more and more slop that arrives each week, and the non-disclosed stuff, is making it really hard for them to keep up/stay motivated. This should help a bit. A.I. slop needs to be banned.

Unfortunately i mostly use the actual Steam app to browse the shops so it wouldn't do much for me, still downloading it though
I do worry a bit that studios will simply stop disclosing.

For people asking: for safety and privacy concerns don't install extensions to the browser in Steam. It's not intended, it's not supported. Just open a browser window.
Indie devs PLEASE feel encouraged to drop your #NextFest games that don’t use AI!
I clicked on 5 of the Recommended games from the main banner on the Next Fest page and the first four had !I disclosures of various flavors.

Hmmm. How can you tell with this that it's using modern GenAI vs good old fashioned vocal synthesis (and neural net based chord sequencers for example) as have existed for decades? I'm concerned we're going to be blanket blocking genuine AI use but I don't have a good solution.

We aren't devs, but we do make sure to actively avoid any games with AI disclosures. We did a list of cozy games for Steam Next Fest here. bsky.app/profile/comf...
Problem is, there‘s a lot of games that use this disclosure box to say they don‘t use AI. So I‘d recommend actually reading the box instead of blanket ignoring all games that have some text in their disclosure
Do you consider LLMs for coding as bad as GenAI for assets? To me they're different, but I'm interested in your take.

fwiw, steamDB also has a tag for ”ai content disclosed” that you can set to exclude if you're searching on there

related, the fact that steam has an official section for AI disclosure but doesn't let you filter by games that have one is obnoxious
Crazy that Steam/Valve lets you ignore tags from appearing but there's no AI Creation tag? Even if it goes beyond the tag system, they should have something that lets me never have to see an AI slop game to begin with...
