What Trumpy and Maga don't understand is that while the rest of the world can still import goods from every other country with no or very little tariffs, America can't import anything, from anywhere, without paying a large or huge tariff. You can't bully everyone all the time

I was planning on re-opening my business this spring. Now, I've backed out from the lease and am trying to figure out how to stay afloat. All indicators tell me I'll be losing my home of 9 yrs after finally recovering from losing my $400k in equity of my previous home during the 2008 crash.
Small business owner here. I build custom high end pro audio gear for recording studios. A lot of the high quality components I need are simply not made in the US. What the hell am I supposed to do about that? My parts costs just skyrocketed. This is all so utterly stupid and short sighted

Perhaps a class action against the Government for forcing companies out of business sounds like a route to take. Ideally pro bono given the circumstances of those businesses.

I have been seeing some of this already in the past month. I am an insurance underwriter for bars and restaurants (hospitality). I have received more lost policy requests due to businesses closing/selling in the past month than in any month prior.
Sharks is going to be a very different show now.

We own a small construction company in Utah. We still aren't sure the extent to which these tariffs will affect our business. We know they will. We already have contracts on new builds for this year that may sink us due to changes in costs. After 40+ years in business. It's scary as hell out here.

Just seems like another favor to big corporations by trying to demolish small businesses. When I think of the non-food products I buy, likely 80% or more are manufactured by small businesses. We can't just let them, like the small family farms, fail because Felon 47 flunked Economics 101.

The only benefit to trickle down economics was cheap products from China. The availability of cheap products and tools from China was the only benefit regular Americans got from the economy built for the already wealthy. Forcing us to buy American products at much higher prices will not work.

These policies were so clearly put in place by people who have never tried to have something made in the US. For so many industries it is impossible for factories in the states to make the volumes or meet price points needed to actually succeed and scale. The infrastructure doesn’t exist.

Another example: Small US business that sources ingredients for one of my favorite products from around the world. Don't think Baobab Seed Oil, Cacao Absolute, and other ingredients can be sourced from the U.S. Tariffs are impoverishing us not just financially but culturally.

Whether it’s auto parts or anything produced outside of USA, the reason it was imported is because it was more affordable & of high quality for the American consumers. So if this is removed, the products will be definitely more expensive, but quality will suffer as America lacks skilled labor

Truth is this hurts businesses who produce their products in America. We own a coffee roasting business for the past 19 years. Green coffee has increased over 100% over the past year, this could make it far worse. Trump knows nothing about economics.
