Sanders ran as a Democrat in 2016. Had some surprising success in the primary until he didn't. He endorsed Clinton to unite the party once it became clear she would win the nomination, as is normal once primaries end. That's how I remember it. Why people hate him is beyond me.

Im confused. In the 2016 Democratic primary, Hillary Clinton received 606,822 votes (49.73% of the total) in the Massachusetts primary, while Bernie Sanders received 589,803 votes (48.33% of the total).

Fuck this guy. What do you mean you had no say in who would be President? WTF was that year long primary process where you all could vote in. Bernie got to write many of the rules in that process so ask him why you STILL think it’s unfair. It’s not unfair it’s just the guy you like didn’t win.

The fact that Harris became the candidate when Biden was forced out of the race was unfair bc dem voters had no say in that decision.

He always has been. Even when he supported Trump it was with Democratic-ish values. It seems like a big piece of the problem is a lack of understanding of the systems and politics, in terms of its inner workings. We've lost our informed pundits and replaced them with entertainers.

They let an Independent run in their tent. AND Dems can participate in primaries to choose nominee. How is this autocratic!?! Just bc your guy lost, doesn’t mean it’s rigged. SC is the BASE and they led the way in 2020.

I love Bernie, and I voted for him in the primary in 2016. BUT, once the contest was HRC versus Trump, no matter why, every sensible person had to behave like an adult & choose the person who was light years better than the other--HRC. If they had done that, we wouldn't be where we are now. The end.

I didn’t want a Clinton or a Bush in that 2016 election. I voted for Bernie in the primary as a protest vote but always knew I was voting for Clinton in the general. My primary vote is the only one I regret because it made a thing look bigger than it was.

This is a heap of cowshxx. Except for the last election where the top of the ticket dropped out late and the bottom of the ticket finished it out in short time, voters had a choice. It sucked that there wasn’t a primary but again the timing. You knew who Trump was.

Bernie Sanders has said the same fucking stuff for 50 years. Yet he’s never even tried to write legislation to actually match his empty rhetoric. “Saying stuff” is easy. Bernie hasn’t done shit

Nice to hear Bernie torch the "burn it down" thesis. The rest of it is "coulda woulda shoulda". No fair primary since 2008? What is his beef with 2020? That Bernie didn't win?
G SCOTT · Jun 21
Bernie didn't have the votes. The End.

Love what you are conveying!!

Please stop being over judgmental on Dems. They’re not perfect but godlike if compared to republicans. My sleepy cat is better than any republican in power now. And bro-caster didn’t sound so dem just a few months ago

It's a real yawner everybody still blaming Hillary's loss on Bernie. If you were really concerned about the 2016 election look to Jill Stein. She had so many fraudulent illegal and unverifiable signatures on her petition for the president in NV that she was denied by the TEA party SOS on the ballot

Yeah, basically. And then they gave us trump 2.5.

That phrase "I am a life long (insert party here)" is the source of many of the problems we face in democracies globally

Make sure you vote in your primary for progressives.
đɨɍŧɨƀɨŧ · Jun 21
It’s almost as if the democrats are impotent because they are being cuckolded by their own donators.
@vjax.bsky.social · Jun 21
Bullshit
Liberalettie · Jun 21
Bernie was not and is not the answer.
@beyourhero.bsky.social · Jun 21
The DNC is in so much trouble right now. Letting David Hogan walk away was a big mistake. Constantly asking for money is another one. Keeping Chuck Schumer is another one. Time to shake out the sheets.

There's maybe a choice for democrats, what to do next year. But it has to start now. 👇 bsky.app/profile/anil...

I adore Bernie Sanders. I shook his hand in Brooklyn, NY. He ain't never lied. The Dems ARE messed up, too. But like he implied... Never Trump or Republicans. The Republikkkans are burning it all down now. How does that feel?

So much bull. Everyone knew Trump was going to be a monster, but they did not like her laugh, and it was cool to attack the most vulnerable.
Roberto · Jun 21
He's spot on and nothing will change until Schumer, Pelosi, Jeffries and all other centrists and neoliberals are purged from the party.

Link to full video or at least the name of the podcast?

Perhaps the fact the news media was diverted by every lie, nonsense and "sensational news click bait" profits and ignored the Biden administration. The felon's words rewritten. Verbatim, those words told a clear tale of authoritarianism and propaganda. (Defunded ED since the 80s hasn't helped.)

This dude is not a lifelong Democrat. He can fuck off with that BS.
@morecarrotsplz.bsky.social · Jun 22
Mr. Cuban, you had no problem being part of Kamala's presidency if she had won. And she should have. Come on, he won all 7 swing states? We need to work on voting reform and make sure voting machines are not hackable (ahem, Elon).
