Our kids love, and are allowed, to open broken electronics. One tip though: don't accidentally put your expensive, still perfectly functioning Bluetooth speaker in the recycling box....

Just be careful with old cameras: the capacitors for the flash can retain a lot of charge.
I remember I disassembled my dad's new cassette player. It was a dark day in my life, he could find all parts :)
Oh, no. Dad's going to have to buy another, and it'd be a waste to get the same model because the improved model is just so much better and costs only a bit more…
