And if he's focused on milk, he's not causing problems elsewhere.
PhdTownTrail · Apr 26
To be fair, full fat milk has more natural enzymes than skimmed or semi skimmed, some of which make it easier for your body to metabolize the calcium in the milk. Ladies at risk of osteoporosis should drink full fat rather than skimmed. The fat content is around 5% anyway, so not exactly high.

He's clearly been researching this... (from this week's Popbitch)

Now this the culture war I want

Wut? There's no significant sugar in skim milk. None. Ignorance as a point of pride is commonplace on the right globally.
Pam · Apr 26
Skimmed and full fat milk has the same sugar content. Removing fat from milk does not affect the lactose content. Lactose is the natural sugar found in milk, as we all know. Except Peter. Peter apparently does not know this.
Jenn de Jeune · Apr 26
Oh yeah, it’s all that extra sugar…🙄 An extra .1g of sugar per 100ml for semi skimmed milk…
Chris · Apr 26
Peter is probably sticking to breast milk…. much to his mother’s annoyance 🤷♂️

I'm off out to paint the local roundabout blue

How dairy!

(Narrator): Little did his chin know…twas not packed with sugar.
Robbie Palmer · Apr 26
He’s not started competing with Adrian Chiles has he?
Michael Williams · Apr 26
"packed with more sugar"

Why do people still read Peter Hitchins? He is chock full of bile and self-importance, and I never touch him.
Andrew Heenan 💚 · Apr 26
I'll be holding a demo on Tuesday, for the right to drink skimmed milk. I hate it, I don't touch it, but I'll defend the rights of those who do. This is a hill I'm willing to die on. Ludgate Hill, 14.28. You know it makes sense, stop the Milk Reformers Now. Who's in? (note: sugar is NOT included).
Berserker Coach · Apr 26
WTF does this even mean? Is he drinking sweetened milk? As we know, by definition, skim has the same amount of sugar, because it's the **same milk**, minus the fat.

At last, a right wing policy I can get behind!

And he looks so healthy on it

"I do like to stick an egg in my gob for my photo though", he added.

Modern dairies separate the cream from the milk, then add it back at the correct composition for full fat or semi skimmed.
@carolavanaswegen.bsky.social · Apr 26
0.1 gr per 100 ml. But much less fat in skimmed milk.
@twbsbwriel.bsky.social · Apr 26
Doesn't get that lactose is naturally occurring in all milk does he - one of the thickest of the thicks who write for the 'Fail'.
Sir Tom (never had a blue tick)🐧🇪🇺🇬🇧 · Apr 26
Stop this.
@davidjohngreen.bsky.social · Apr 26
Surely a culture war would involve low fat yoghurt

Cracking photo to promote the benefits of full fat milk

Friend asked me where to buy raw milk. "Because that doesn't come with all the sugar added to milk in factories," she added. Me: "Uh. Like, lactose aka milk sugar?" Lots of foods actually do naturally contain sugar, indeed. Some really are clueless. 🤷
Richard Long · Apr 26
He looks well. Must be all that healthy full fat milk he’s drinking.
