A deep-sky astrophotograph showing Markarian’s Chain, a curved grouping of galaxies in the Virgo Cluster against a black star-filled background. The two dominant large elliptical galaxies M84 and M86 are visible toward the right-center, glowing with warm golden light. Near the center of the frame, two smaller interacting galaxies known as The Eyes (NGC 4435 and NGC 4438) show distorted structure and a reddish dust lane. Dozens of background galaxies of varying orientations, edge-on, face-on, and oblique, are scattered throughout the frame. The image is signed “Jordan Martin” in the lower right corner.
