I have always wondered why the Alboran Sea is excluded from the Western Mediterranean domain (1°W–15°E, 33–46°N) in Copernicus reports. While I understand that it is easier to extract data for the sub-region, this still overlooks thousands of square kilometres of maritime area.

What is strange is most of the Mediterranean has seen significant and extreme increases in temperatures, except the Aegean. It has been colder than average all month
