They're only ever upset about misdeeds by Democrats. When it's one of their own, doing much worse than anything a Democratic president's ever done, then they'll twist themselves into knots to justify it.
The government shouldn’t pick winners and losers. The electorate, on the other hand, keeps picking losers.
It isn't just "bad form" or frowned upon. It's an ethical violation and misuse of public office for a government official, acting in their official capacity to endorse or promote a commercial product or service.
The media narrative has to be that the Republican base has no moral and intellectual core and will go wherever the propaganda leads them.
Kinda like how it was a mortal sin for Biden's son to serve on the board of an energy company, yet Uday and Qusay Trump having a stake in a mining company in Kazakhstan while their daddy is setting up an extraction deal for it is totally on the level.
