"The Harvest Spirit’s Lament" "I wish you knew how much I loved you, my spirit of the ashes. Do you remember when the harvest moon that lay above us as we wept together? It shone so bright over your canopy, and even now in this cold night I reach out for your tender touch, but I can no longer feel your warm leaves, nor can I see that glimmer. The charred bark of your trunk is cold and empty. Oh my blazing beauty, without you around how could I love again? My sweet ember tree in the forest of fire, where is your spark? Oh how I miss the way your flames danced when we embraced in the dead of night. My spirit of the ashes, oh how I still love you.
