I think this reflects a few things. First housing costs particularly in major centres are high driving couples to move in together. Second couples may move in together to test out the relationship not a full commitment like marriage before deciding to have kids.
Markets, marketing, business, politics. Give the people what they want. I can listen to late night with Delilah if I want to get in touch with my feelings.
That doesn’t sound like a new trend
My ex-wife and I married, had a kid, and now we're broken up. So I guess in that sense I'm somewhat of an overachiever.

Is this down to women no longer being beaten into submission? Or not being able to escape multiple pregnancies that were caused by marital rape & shame based policies? Women want men who are non-controlling, thoughtful & generous. We don’t want drudgery so men can ‘work’. It’s that simple.
I get you want people to have more kids because you think it adds value and happiness people’s lives because yours did for you. But, suppose you got your wish and there’s a baby boom. With automation and AI, what do you expect all these kids to do for a living in 20 years?
