Incredible Wall Street Journal reporting on how this war succeeded in making the Iranian people rise up…to support hardliners within the regime. Secular women showing up to rallies to change “We are the soldiers of Seyyed Mojtaba,” things of that nature. www.wsj.com/world/middle...

This assumes that the regime would not lie and stage fake events.

When one of your first actions is to bomb a school, kill over 100 children, then deny it, and then act as though it doesn't matter, people will despise you. Play the "we are your liberators" card and the entire world sees what liars you are. Iranians are no different.

To be fair, the war planners had no way of knowing that bombing campaigns cause populations to rally around the flag, after all the Blitz caused Brits to turn on Churchill and the allied bombings caused Germany to surrender without the need for a bloody ground invasion.

"A common enemy unites." An age-old lesson that these fools probably didn't think of or thought wouldn't happen ...even though it always does.
