1) Open this image up 2) Find the small, blue feature in the very middle Congratulations, you've spotted the Perseverance rover on Mars, photographed from orbit! 3) Trace the rover tracks as they wend their way across the surface

This shows the problem with letting egghead scientists control these things. That route is extremely inefficient!

Can see its trail too.

What the fuck are you even trying to say or see????

Thanks. These days one needs all the reminders one can get of how brilliant humans can be when we put our minds to it! Never tire of watching this: www.youtube.com/watch?v=T4UK...

It's come a long way !

I remember when this program started. I have yet to see ONE improvement in anyones life on earth from this. Below is what I call REAL SCIENCE since it clearly helps us. Immediately.

Hart · 26d

Aww you can see it's little trail where it drove around.

Anton Markwart · 26d

The Pale Blue Dot on the Pale Red Dot.

TaraT · 27d

So cool! Science in action.

Matt Phelps · 27d

tire tracks... ON FRIGGIN' MARS!!

Marius Loots · 27d

Every time I see images from Mars, I am again amazed like a little kid.

Liam @ GamingOnLinux · 26d

Fuck yeah, science!

@sukot.bsky.social · 27d

That’s very cool, but the only humans that should visit are Musk and Bezos.

Bill · 27d

Wow. Who’s driving? Geesh.

Lyndall · 26d

Are these the sorts of colours you'd see with human eyes, or are they in a different range of the electromagnetic spectrum?

SecurityCatnip · 27d

I love that not only are the tracks so sharply defined, but you can clearly see where the rover rotates in place.

@i-am-sorry.bsky.social · 26d

This is awesome - thank you! 🤗

@3dlanyard.bsky.social · 27d

That’s an amazing group at JPL. It must be embarrassing for them to be associated with NASA. I want to disband NASA. Lock up Musk and have JPL own SpaceX. We’ll do away with the SpaceX name like all things Trump and Musk.

Go, Persey, Go!

So, another pale blue dot. But what will we see when we finally join all the dots, I wonder...

Isaac Rabinovitch · 27d

Hah! Thank you for sharing that!

Lin Bente · 27d

So cool! Thanks

Kev Beachus · 25d

Whilst I can't see the tracks, it is an awesome photo!

@palmdessert.bsky.social · 27d

I’m sorry folks, I wasn’t sure what this was at first! I thought it was Trump’s supposed big beautiful pool that he’s totally f..ked up!!

Andrew Rothstein · 26d

When is this rover going to “accidentally” draw a penis?

Poor thing, it must be so lonely.
