Thoth @thoth.ptnote.dev · Jan 11 Here's one of the manga shelves. Notice how there are a bunch of volumes numbered 1. I can be reasonably confident that if I pick up volume 1 of any of these comics, I will be at a good entrypoint for a newcomer to the story the comic is telling. Much friendlier!

Marvel and DC get one shelf each at my local Barnes & Noble. There's another 2 ½ shelves and that is all of the western graphic novels present in the store. There is an entire 14-shelf aisle dedicated to manga, plus an extra shelf the next aisle over. I wonder why.
