I once worked for a guy that would walk around talking and bragging about how easy he could fire anyone he wanted to. One day his ass got beat up in the parking lot during a lunch break. No one knows who did it or saw anything. 🤷♀️

There is a novella from 1909 called "The Machine Stops." It depicts a future completely dependent on technology, and one day, it breaks. I think about that when I see horrible shit like this. Go ahead & switch to AI & lose your humanity... will you fix AI with AI? en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Mac...

Ava looks delightful! 🙄 AI users should be taxed to make up for loss of payroll taxes.

The gap between what builders think they're doing and what the public sees might be the real problem. Trust isn't built by explaining your intentions—it's built by showing restraint and being honest about tradeoffs. 🎧 demades.ai/e/people-who-work-and-invest…

This shit is on the Verizon building on 10th and West 53rd in NYC. I think they hoisted as high as it is because we would have pulled it down otherwise. Like all of these trumpian assholes, I don’t just wanted them sued, blocked and imprisoned, I want them hanged.

This is just a great failure to read the room. Anywhere where AI is being used or has the potential to be used, this kind of speak would get everyone rightly uncomfortable. You still need humans in the loop, how is anyone going to be productive if this is what they're partnering with?

Cannot believe the left won “offering goods or services that people value, which then creates good, honest jobs for hardworking Americans” in the divorce
@fabmsp.bsky.social · Jun 12
AI customer “service” is shite.
jerbrad2882 · Jun 13
Who the fuck are they advertising to -- in SF too? Workers making the commute. The billionaire CEO freaks don't go into the office -- to those left. Know your audience, AI.
FlyBly · Jun 13
Idk. I think it’s just a marketing failure. It should read “Your clothes. Give them to me. Now.”

Besides the fact that they've all got main character syndrome & wouldn't recognize empathy if it sat on their face and wiggled? "We built a technology that will steal your job, run up your electricity bill, poison your neighborhood & heat the Planet to make a stupid three second video! Cool, huh?"

My favorite Adobe Firefly story is when they were hyping AI rewriting your text prompts and the picture and video outcomes were flowery but beyond the comprehension of the Firefly program, so the outcomes were even worse than usual.

The whole industry needs a rebrand if they want to move forward successfully. I think everyone just pictures a room full of DOGE dipshits. And is like fuck these people, I’ve seen the damage they’ve done. No rebrand coming unfortunately. Cause of egos.

There is a blog post explaining why you should want to replace your cold-calling sales reps with AI instead of getting mad at them! (I had to look up “BDR” as that is jargon even our jargon-loving department head hasn’t “surfaced” at us yet, and they never define it) www.artisan.co/blog/stop-hi...

The sheer unmitigated *gall* of calling their company “Artisan”, too, while mechanising and automating all the craft out of a job that, done well, can be a springboard to amazing careers.
@javisito69.bsky.social · Jun 13
a group of damn people, fucking HUMANS, approved this shitty ass marketing strategy and plastered all over busses and billboards, like, "fuck yeah this is totally gonna work!!!" for fucks sake, and THIS is why we are where we are, too many dumb stupid people in power!
The Original Alexa · Jun 13
Yeah, this is some terrible dystopian shit. I work with AI. I have helped train AI. AI has a lot of potential as a tool to reduce repetitive or potentially dangerous tasks. It does not have the potential to replace critical thinking skills and taste from actual people.

The gap between "we're building the future" and "you're automating away human dignity" is fascinating. There's probably a whole psychology of innovation disconnect worth exploring — creators vs. everyone else living through the consequences.

So "BDR" means "low-rung salesman." Wow. What a brilliant way to build client relationships.
@marcusgdaniels.bsky.social · Jun 13
Sales, a.k.a. systematic deception, and the specific case of BDR, seems uniquely suited to humans. At least the annoyingness was limited in scale with paying humans to do it.
Ed · Jun 15
Reminds me of the dumbass commercial telling people to take the day off and let AI finish their projects.
@sfurbanist.bsky.social · Jun 13
90% of billboards along this stretch are AI ads. 'Stop hiring humans' and 'Your next hire won't be human' along with all the insider jargon ones. I guess since tech corps lost their humanity a while ago, they're just saying the quiet part out loud these days.
@fatio.bsky.social · Jun 13
