I'm playing around with... I mean... testing the trend networks Signaltek QT pro right now. It's nice! Gives a lot more info than the old NetAlly LRAT 2000 I'm using right now. I've been impressed with it! Supposed to be getting the Signaltek 10g Pro soon for testing as well. Hoping that Is asgood

The modern flukes call anything that measures distance ‘TDR’

Charles · Feb 21

Is it normal for different strands to have different lengths, or is that a fluke? The pairs are wrapped together differently if I recall correctly, but I'm not sure if that would actually create a significant distance difference.

Wow - when you posted the other day it made me think of fond memories of my first TDR

Your Juniper switch can do a TDR test. "request diagnostics tdr start interface ge-0/0/xx", then "show diagnostics tdr interface ge-0/0/xx" Cisco/Brocade equivalent (IIRC) "test cable-diagnostics tdr interface xxx", then, "show cable-diagnostics tdr interface xxx"
