My dog used to stop people in their tracks just like this. He had this way of looking into their eyes that was like, "There you are! I've been waiting for you." Sometimes I would stand there thinking how life would be if we all greeted each other like people did him.

Dogs do bring out the best in people, that’s why I always had a dog. Who wouldn’t want to be their best? After a long day teaching and I arrived home to the best welcome. They acted like I was gone a month.

Sometimes I think that the main reason people aren't as friendly with each other as they are with animals, is because humans have sexualized touch to the point that no one seems to touch except for that. Bring back innocent, clean, caring touch! Or, you know, get me a puppy.
We are so lucky to have dogs. A lot of people will thank Millie for providing “fur therapy”, when we walk her around the marina in town. Seems to be an increasing need for it.
