I'd decide whether to watch it solely based on who they cast as Cat. Chris Tucker could probably pull it off.

I haven't seen a great many Red Dwarf episodes but the ones I've seen are solid gold. Like the time they visited Earth but it was an Earth where time runs backwards. When they're about to leave, the Cat goes off into the bushes to use the bathroom and comes back with his hair standing straight up. 馃槵

A lot of work was done by insurance company PR firms a while back to undermine perception of universal healthcare - the emphasis was on long wait times etc. That work was unfortunately really influential. But the details of real-world NHS issues don't typically surface.
