I doubt this will mean anything to you if you aren't in the KABC viewing area, but for those of us who are ... I saw this at the OC Fair last night, in the arts and crafts exhibition. I've been on live megadoppler 2000 storm watch ever since.

Did you ever notice that Dallas Raines stands like his balls are sticking to his leg during the weather report?

Truth now, has he been placed in a scenario with your STNG figures?

Shutup and take my money!

I remember him and I haven’t lived in So Cal since ‘92

It's been too long since I've lived in that area to be a Dallas Raines fan, but I'd buy a Mike Nelson figure in a heartbeat. 💕 He retired last December from Channel 7 in Denver, and he's just a lovely person, as well as a hardworking scientist and gifted forecaster. Great weather peeps are gold. ☀️❄️

MEGADOPPLER would be a fun word to say in a really low register and with tons of reverb

I miss KABC and Dallas Raines.

Haha, so funny! What other city could sell a weatherman action figure?!? I grew up with Dallas Raines reporting the weather in the background as I raged about afternoon cartoons coming to an end. Good times.

Ha. There a Big Bang Theory callback to made here somewhere.

Repost for other SoCal peeps. And because it's cool.

So glad they got the articulated hip joints so he can do his signature Doppler Dip.

Every town has their beloved weather man, and I totally get it. The more you learn about them, you learn about their lifelong love of science and respect for keeping people informed. Here in Chicago, we had Tom Skilling, and the love is strong for him.

The figure itself doesn't seem tan enough...

Oh my lord. I was once in line behind him at the car wash, & he was regaling the clerk with stories about how he was going up north to his son's graduation from law school. The clerk was beside herself with delight. He's a lot shorter than he seems on TV. Still like him, though.

LOL. He's aged better than I expected with as tan as he was for the entirety of my childhood.

That’s terrific. I’d love to get the whole line. Johnny Mountain. Danny Romero. Garth Kemp, regular and Spark of Love Elf costume variant.

COOOOOL! We were a Fritz Colman household but I remember Dallas.

He looks as red as a storm cell...

This is incredible. Need a Johnny Mountain and Dr. George Fischbeck to complete the set!

Where is my Todd McFarlane collector’s meteorologist line Topper Shutt figure? Surely would be in series 1.
Ubiety · Jul 31
Did they have a Johnny Mountain?
