Flying squirrels, in general, don’t get the press that they deserve.
Samurai Champloo had one of the main characters have one as a pet. that was how i learned they existed.
The first Japanese flying squirrel I saw was in an anime. Then I saw one in a live action TV show and realized the anime had not exaggerated the cuteness.
