Win98, yes that was a while ago but I remember when windows 95 was released with their 27 3.5" floppies to install or even older I remember my first pc, Univac's first PC, a 8086 with a dip switch for a fast 8mhz speed option, 5.25" floppy, no hard drive, no graphic & basic, not gwbasic.

Respect. Back in my desktop support days, I learned to build computers with MFM hard disks and manual IRQs. I remember “plug & pray”. I set up token ring networks with WinNT. 😬 If you had a 512 MB hard drive, you were a god among mortals. I’ve seen things. Terrible things.

Back when Windows NT4's Explorer (Exploder) wouldn't let you go to netscape.com to download Navigator - had to go to download.com and get it - once Navigator was installed, explorer would then let you go to netscapecom !! - 28 years ago and it seems like yesterday!

My first computer was a CDC 128. 1982. (Columbia Data Products) Two 5-1/2 floppies. No hard drive. No mouse. No modem. Used it for letters and spreadsheets. Ran Lotus 123. Had a scheduling program called VisiSchedule. Everything was done in DOS.

My first windows based PC was second hand windows 95 that someone had deleted all the drivers off. I had to somehow make the modem work, browse the internet in 16 colors till I found all the drivers and installed them. It was a learning curve.
