That's the name I want to avoid. It's a graph, yes, that's clear, but I am looking for the name people would use if they used that graph to create stuff like below.

The first one looks clearly like a flow diagram. The second one is not so clear, what is it being used for?
Which part of the original are you wanting to describe? These are a flow chart and a node graph and I don't think they should have a common name (other than 'graph' or 'relational visualization' or something). I know that saying 'graph' to an average person they'll think like a line graph, but…
