Another picture of the White House with my head peeking below. This is a trend I’ve done with some famous things to show that I was really there with my head, mostly my hair, peeking out. The Adams quote is from a letter sent to his wife, Abigail, on November 2, 1800. He goes on to say that he doesn’t want to describe the rest of the home because she should inspect it for herself. He only calls the house itself “habitable,” and wishes for her to come as soon as she can. The Franklin quote is from the journal of James McHenry (MD delegate) who kept minutes and discussions at the Constitutional Convention. This was in reply to a question from Elizabeth Powel, who was a wealthy aristocrat in Philadelphia. While not at the convention, she wanted to know whether this new United States was a Republic or Monarchy. Franklin’s quote is his response.
