There is no choice presented here. Mozilla is using contrarian language to sell their own generative AI product. This isn't rebelling. This isn't listening to the consumer. This is not coming from the humane perspective. This is an attempt at gaining investors and waning critics away from anti-ai.

I choose to not publish slop, not make my coworkers review slop, or even generate slop for personal use. “AI isn’t just another tech trend — it’s at the heart of most apps, tools and technology we use today.” This is so fucking cringeworthy. “AI” is not at the heart of any app or tool that I use.

I don't blame you. It's a tricky place to be. - You are not talk of the town anymore. Zen, Dia, etc. appeal more to the kids. - You can't claim to be the good guys when you are backed by Google, plus there are better options around (Vivaldi and Ecosia). But the AI-browser is already claimed.

In suggesting that AI is inevitable, you only seem to approach the idea of it being a tool to assist humans rather than replace. What is not addressed is how the environmental impact will be dealt with. Do you feel that the amount of water necessary to run a data center is worth it? I do not.

What, in fact, the fuck? You try and push AI. You get told no. You push it again. You get told no again. You put forward a survey which says 'what type of AI do you want?'. Lots of responses contain 'fix the browser, stop including AI' You quadruple down on AI AI *is not a priority to your users*
