My first Mac was a Macintosh LC 4/40 with the same 12" screen. Really great machine, first affordable color (!) Mac!

Can’t believe it’s in as good of condition as that. You may want to nevertheless crack it open and check for leaking capacitors that may need replacing. There are also floppy emulators you can get so that you can load like hundreds of disks onto an SD card and have them ready for use.

Wow that brings back some memories. I worked in a computer lab in college that had Apple PCs very similar to that back in the late 80's. I want to say it was right before those came out.
I’m 55 and remember when they rolled in an Apple into our class (I think 5th grade?) anyways my parents got me a Com64k when I was 12 and that got me into basic. Those were the days of my exploration into computers. Wish I would of kept at it 🤨 anyways I’d probably buy one if I saw one 😂
We used to annoy our lab manager by peeling the feet of the bottom of the monitor so it sat flush with the CPU unit... by sliding it forward backward at speed :-)

You can actually get a @bluescsi.com and do networking via SCSI, if you're not opposed to using modern drive emulators for stuff like this. I haven't messed with it personally yet but I've heard it gets the job done, at least!

Networking will be with AppleTalk which users transceivers and RJ11 cabling if memory serves me correctly. Good luck with that 😂

If you can't get a NIC for it then another option would be a LocalTalk to EtherTalk converter. I don't think that will get you a functioning TCP/IP stack though. My recollection of that era was that we had these standalone "FastPath" boxes that provided IP over AppleTalk back to the Mac's. 1/?
This is beyond cool and I can't wait to see the traces. If you just want to get it online or on a network, you could try the virtual modem route: www.steptail.com/guides:virtu... Basically, interface a Raspberry Pi with the serial port to act as a modem. No AppleTalk though over that line
Damn makes me want to try and find a good Apple 2e. It was the first computer I ever used in elementary school. I was a windows users most of my life but moving away from it the few years to macOS and Linux I hope you get this thing talking!
