Honestly, every time someone floats a “solution” for Hormuz, it ignores how reliant global shipping is on that bottleneck. Even with pipelines, almost 20% of world oil goes through there. There’s no easy workaround.
Every proposal I’ve seen about bypassing the Strait just runs into geography and cost. Pipelines only cover so much volume, and alternative shipping routes are way longer. Hard to see a real fix without major tradeoffs.

Actually, a 1,400 km pipeline across Saudi Arabia between Bahrain and Jedda would allow them to choose between the Red Sea and the Suez Canal and the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz so they could use whichever is best.

Very interesting suggestion but I suspect the infrastructure to do so (roads or rail + appropriate vehicles) don't exist + With the transition away from fossil fuels its probably too late to think about putting them in place now By the time they're ready, at immense expense, the need's gone... 🤞

Honestly this is it. We need to get off oil. We've had since the 70's oil crisis to have a gentle long term weening, but we wasted it. Now's the chance to use the shock to force a reduction in oil use. No more oil for power, no more jumbo trucks and SUV's being the norm.
I think we might see them all building pipelines in the future, only problem with that, with them being sorta stationary makes them easy targets too
