I love, love, love NPR, yesterday I listened to "The Moth" where people tell their stories. One lady talked about giving a broccoli party which was hilarious, and science Fridays, and Terri Gross interviews are the best.

I have always been an NPR listener but I’ve not listened for weeks now. It’s all Pope coverage. I used to be Catholic even and I could give a flying F about it. With all the actual news going on this shouldn’t have been the main focus updated every 15 minutes.

So in the USA national public broadcasting isn’t funded entirely by federal government? We’ve got issues in Australia with adequate funding of public broadcasting but private funding, even by donation, defeats the purpose. A bit like addressing social issues via philanthropy.

When I grew up, every radio station had news at least once an hour, Yes, it was mostly rip and read, but it was something. Now most radio stations have no news at all. News stations are mostly limited to major cities. And when I've traveled, I've found most of them are almost all local news.
NPR is what I grew up listening to in my parents cars. It's also the news for spineless liberals stuck on civility politics. Nothing about the current moment is civil, it's existential, treat it like that.

I used to donate every year. I stopped because you sanewashed Trump and constantly ran stories on how the right wing frames Biden, the economy, civil rights, climate change, etc. You failed to make the truth clear to your listeners and readers. You have not earned our support.
I have given to NPR & PBS during every fundraiser event for the last 40 years. I can no longer afford to give b/c I have had to donate (almost a third of the money I've made so far this year) to candidates. I know NPR and PBS are part of this fight but the coffers are empty. This is so bad.
