You did such a good job with your photo choice, omg.

Everyday, British Politics start to imitate early Black Mirror more and more.

Honestly I’m wondering if he’ll wear the bin in Parliament or not. I remember when a Japanese pro wrestler won a seat in the Diet and there was quite a fight over whether he could still wear his mask.

And everyone in the world has been driven crazy by the US electing a weirdly popular sort of actor who was coded conservative, clueless and an idiot, but extremely confident he knew what he was doing, and did phenomenal amounts of harm to the world. Surely we won't make a mistake like Regan again.

Good point.

He sounds more articulate, intelligent and stable than the vast majority of current MP's.

Good comedians are so so smart and quick-witted. And often self-effacing. Z is all of those.

From what I’ve heard, he’ll be an improvement
Why? He’s a very bright individual and let’s face it, he wouldn’t much to surpass NF’s contribution to his constituency

Brilliant.

Its that episode of black mirror all over again

One of his molars will be replaced for a bomb. Insurance you know.
Alb · 4d
He’s not governing though. He’d be an MP for the people of Clacton, and is more than capable of being better than the current incumbent.

Zelensky highkey has one of the craziest career trajectories in history, and lowkey the craziest part is that he's actually been really good at it. hell him staying in Kyiv rather than fleeing the seemingly unstoppable Russian invasion probably saved Ukraine from being overrun right then and there
Rawdge · 4d
Don’t count out the satarists. They satirize because they care and see the gulf between the words and the deeds and want to draw attention to it. The people that keep it quiet and play along in order to profit from it are the real problem. Satirists over sycophants any day. One takes courage.

So you're saying Clacton-on-Sea will be invaded by Russia

He’d make a great prime minister

I see he's emerged from his bin to emphasise his serious credentials regarding his bid to represent Clacton On Sea. He's published serious manifesto commitments Farage would struggle to match. Promising regular surgeries and activity in Clacton. Outside earnings to Clacton charities!

If you know you know.

I know some say the war saved his career, but even allowing for that, if Ukraine can make it work, when the hell are we getting Hugh Grant as PM?!?

The difference is backbench M.P.'s indeed most M.P's in general are not actually required to do anything.

Counterpoint: Being a parliamentary backbencher is one of the easiest jobs in the world and pays over 100,000 pounds a year.
Peter Ellis · 4d
I think being a backbencher in the Commons wouldn't be too stressful (at least compared to being President of Ukraine), and I wouldn't be surprised if Count Binface turned out to be quite a good local member.
Jonman🎃💀👻 · 4d
ill say this, voting for nigel farage feels more like a waste of a vote. because he'll probably resign in afew years....again
Alex · 3d
Satirists tend to be quite intelligent, astute individuals who want to satirize politicians because they know what's right. If Binface wins and takes it seriously, prepare for him to become the new LibDem leader within 2 years!

Zelensky went from stand‑up comedy to standing up to Putin. Meanwhile we’ve got leaders here who can’t even stand up to lobbyists

He also should be required to wear the binface while actively governoring

I think its because love of country and fellow countrymen is vastly more important than being a professional politician. Second is to make decisions that support the most people possible. Third is balls of steel.
