Well deserved #1 for the hero dogs! I cried at #2 Winter, because I went thru the exact same treatment earlier this year. All is well because of early detection.

I'm a 3 time (different cancers) warrior, including breast cancer. Winter is my hero!🫡🥲 And Theodora is the Michael Phelps of the doggie agility world. (His arm span is huge; I don't know the correct term for it.) I can't believe where she started the jump versus where the jump actually was!

I can confirm that dogs can smell breast cancer. My rescue bit my left breast 2 separate times. I had BC and caught it early enough to treat it successfully.

Aw, that lab reminds me of a dog I had many years ago. We lived near a small lake and he lived to be in the water. If he managed to get out the door there was no worry about him running away – he'd run straight to the lake and jump in with a flying leap.
A squeaky-toy hot dog is NOT an acceptable substitute. 2 paws-down from my small pack.

I met a man and his Portuguese Water Dog…his dog saved his life because he would not stop pawing at his groin/inguinal area. Turns out the man had a type of advanced lymph cancer.

The corgi is spectacular!
The last story hit me. I live in the SFBA, it’s generally not safe for a woman to walk alone in some places and even on trails. My friend has a pack like this including several German shepherds; I’ve never felt unsafe walking or hiking with her pack.
Ladies this is what I’m talking about when you see those sweet pitty mixes up for adoption. Look at their eyes for indicators and you’ve a life long friend AND PROTECTOR.
